Excellence in Everything We Do

An author, speaker, philanthropist, and successful entrepreneur in diverse industries and multiple countries, T. Paul Bulmahn grew up loving horses. He opened the gates to GoldMark Farm, Ocala, Florida, a premier thoroughbred training center in September 2006. The facility was such a significant success that by June 2007, its owner Mr. Bulmahn was named a “Top Ten Industry Leader To Watch” by the Thoroughbred Times. Where his heart is, that is where his actions are in support of causes to advance everything equine. For example, a 2012 fundraiser for the Florida Horse Park was hosted by Mr. Bulmahn at the farm featuring Kate Chenery Tweedy, author of the best-seller Secretariat’s Meadow.

Mr. Bulmahn is a principal in Planet Green Solutions, Inc., the inventor of a biomass reactor to generate electricity, and founder in 1991 of international offshore oil and gas development company ATP Oil & Gas Corporation. As an entrepreneur in four countries: U.S., U.K., Israel, and the Netherlands, and in three diverse industries: oil and gas offshore development, large animal training, and alternative energy sources, Mr. Bulmahn has utilized ingenuity and innovation to build successful businesses.

A frequent keynote speaker for symposiums and forums in the energy field, Mr. Bulmahn 2010 presented the Valparaiso University Moeller Lecture and delivered the Brown Distinguished Lecture in 2012 at Houston Baptist University. He is also the author of monographs for various periodicals, including The American Oil & Gas Reporter and World Energy. Mr. Bulmahn has served as chairman of the Houston Bar Association’s oil, gas, and mineral law section and has further chaired seminars on oil and gas law and e-business technology. Earlier in his career, he represented Tenneco in Washington D.C., was an administrative law judge for the State of Texas, and was Chairman of Harbert Oil & Gas Corporation.

Mr. Bulmahn was elected to the Board of Directors of Valparaiso University in October 2004 and served until 2010, when he was designated Director Emeritus. He also served three years as a member of the College of Business Administration Advisory Board of Texas State University. Mr. Bulmahn earned a B.A. from Valparaiso University; a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law; and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business, Texas State University, which named him a Distinguished Alumnus in 2000.

General Manager of GoldMark Farm

Not all who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

Alaina Wickham grew up in Maine and envisioned a life full of adventure. She rode Appaloosas throughout her childhood and teenage years and traveled all over the country, showing in All-Around Equestrian Events.

Alaina graduated from UMASS Amherst with a degree in Equine Business Management in 2009. That winter, she came to Ocala as a working student for Larry Poulin. While there, she met USA Combined Driving Team drivers Scott and Kathrin Dancer. At the end of the season in Ocala, they invited her to Woodside, California, to be their rider and groom. In 2010, Alaina moved to Vierheim, Germany, to work for the Dancers as the groom for the World Championship CDE in France. She stayed in Germany for the summers until 2014 as the manager and rider for a world champion pairs driver.

Returning to Ocala in 2014, Alaina worked as a Vet Tech for Dr. Ted Specht. In July 2015, she was recruited to run the Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Center’s private equestrian center. In the 4.5 years she was there, they went from 6 horses to nearly 60. Alaina oversaw all operations, including boarding and property maintenance.

In 2019, Alaina came on board as General Manager for GoldMark Farm, turning her love for adventure into achieving the Gold Standard for a farm that stands for equestrian excellence. You’ll find her managing all aspects of GoldMark Farm’s grounds, horses, and cattle operations, and no two days are alike on the bustling property.
