Setting the Gold Standard
GoldMark Farm unveiled a new equine pool.
The pool is 12×100 with 30-foot ramps on both sides for the horses to access safely.
A pool is often considered essential for racehorse training and rehab due to its therapeutic and conditioning benefits. Here are some reasons why GoldMark Farm offers a custom-designed pool for their thoroughbred partners.
Benefits of a TherapyPool for Horses:
-
Low-Impact Exercise: Swimming provides a low-impact exercise, reducing stress on a horse’s joints and muscles. This is particularly important for racehorses that undergo rigorous training and may be prone to injuries.
-
Muscle Strengthening and Conditioning: Swimming engages a horse’s muscles differently than traditional land-based exercise. Water resistance helps build muscle strength and endurance without the impact associated with activities like galloping on a track.
-
Cardiovascular Fitness: Swimming is an excellent cardiovascular exercise. It helps improve a horse’s stamina and cardiovascular fitness without putting excessive strain on the joints.
-
Rehabilitation: Horses recovering from injuries, surgeries, or other physical conditions can benefit from aquatic therapy. The buoyancy of water reduces weight-bearing, allowing the horse to move more freely and aiding in the rehabilitation process.
-
Variety in Training: Introducing variety in a horse’s training routine is essential to prevent boredom and maintain enthusiasm. Swimming offers a different type of exercise that can complement traditional training methods.
-
Mental Well-Being: Besides the physical benefits, swimming can positively affect a horse’s mental well-being. It provides a change of scenery and a break from the routine, contributing to the overall mental health of the horse.
Our pool provides added value for the thoroughbred trainers and owners at GoldMark Farm.
