Setting the Gold Standard

Overview

The Arena at GoldMark Farm has an expanse of 100 feet by 175 feet with the perimeter being four-board fencing with rounded corners.

Creating the best possible arena for horse training and riding involves considering various factors that contribute to the safety and comfort of both the horse and the rider.

Footing Surface:

  • The footing surface is one of the most critical aspects of an arena. It provides good traction and shock absorption to minimize the risk of injuries.
  • The footing is properly maintained, watered, and groomed regularly to ensure consistency.

Lighting:

  • Adequate lighting is crucial, especially when the arena is used during evening hours or in dark, cloudy conditions.
  • Well-distributed, glare-free lighting ensures visibility for both horse and rider.

Accessibility:

  • We ensure easy access to the arena from the stable or barn area for convenience and safety.

Drainage:

  • Proper drainage is essential to prevent water accumulation in the arena during rain or after watering. The arena is graded to allow for efficient runoff.

Maintenance Equipment:

  • We keep equipment on hand for routine maintenance, such as a tractor with grooming attachments or a water truck for watering and leveling the footing.

Designing and maintaining an ideal arena for horse training and riding requires careful planning and investment. At GoldMark Farm, it plays a significant role in the safety and success of both horses and riders.

Regular upkeep and attention to detail ensure that the arena remains in top condition for training and competitions.
