Opelousas, LA – Culotte ($3.00), patiently ridden by veteran Gerard Melancon, grabbed the lead from early pacesetter Coteau Kitten in the upper stretch, then pulled clear from that rival under moderate urging to record a popular three-length victory in the $50,000 Opelousas Stakes for two-year-old fillies at Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino on Thursday evening.
